Jane Goodall: A Friend to Chimps

44 reads·1 min read
Jane Goodall grew up loving animals. She spent hours watching birds and squirrels near her home in England. When she was a young woman, she dreamed of going to Africa to study wildlife. This dream came true, and she traveled to Tanzania. There, she began her important work studying chimpanzees.
Jane spent many years living among the chimps. At first, they were shy, but she was patient. She watched them closely every day. She learned that chimps make and use tools, like twigs to get termites from holes. Before Jane, people thought only humans used tools. She also saw that chimps have feelings and unique personalities, just like people.
Jane taught the world so much about these amazing animals. Her dedication helped people understand that chimps need protection. Today, she continues to work hard to save chimpanzees and their homes in the wild. She shows us how one person can make a big difference for animals.
