A Fall Day for Leaves

Simone loved the fall. The crisp air felt good. Red and gold leaves fell from the trees. Her yard was full of them. It was time to rake. Simone got her big rake. She started to make a huge pile. It was hard work. She raked and raked. The pile grew bigger and bigger.
Ana lived next door. She watched Simone work. Ana liked to see the leaves fall. But she did not like to rake. A strong wind blew. Whoosh! The big leaf pile scattered. Leaves went everywhere. Simone felt sad. All her hard work was gone.
Ana saw Simone's face. She ran over. "I can help," said Ana. She got a small rake. Together, they started to rake the leaves again. Ana helped Simone gather the leaves. Soon, the pile was big once more. Simone smiled. It was good to work as a team.
