Baby Turtles Find the Ocean

Mama sea turtles lay their eggs in the warm sand. They dig a deep nest on the beach. After many weeks, the little turtle eggs hatch. Out pop many tiny baby turtles! They are ready to find the big ocean. It is a long journey for such small creatures. How do they know which way to go? Baby turtles use light to guide them. The moon and stars shine brightly over the water. This light makes the ocean look like a bright path. The tiny turtles crawl towards the light. They wiggle and waggle over the sand. Soon, they reach the cool waves. The ocean is their new home!
